    Description

Colors are red, white, and blue. Very hard to read but made by Whitehead & Hoag of Newark, N.J. I found 2 on the internet. 1 is in a museum and the other is available for 475.00. I spent more time trying to find out what FAI meant and it stands for Federation Aeronatique Internationale. 1-1/8" wide. Simple C clasp.
In 1923 the Aero Club became the National Aeronautic Association. They issued the 1st pilot's licenses in the U.S. Until 1914 you had to complete their licensing process to be a pilot of the U.S. Army. Possibly this was from a military person.
