GREAT BRITAIN KM# 907 – ½ CROWN – 1959 – UNC
A great looking coin, with both obverse and reverse surfaces showing lots of natural luster. This ½ crown is in the same condition as the 1959 Florin I listed in that the coin’s one drawback are small areas of rub on the obverse’s high point (the queen’s cheek). In the U.S. these are called bag marks resulting typically from post production movement/handing of coins in mint sewn bags and the coins rubbing against each other or edges of coins scrapping against or digging to a coin’s surfaces if the bag was tossed or jostled. On large size coins bag marks are the most common reason for low grade UNC’s. If this coin were submitted for grading it might come back an MS 61 or MS 62 but the cost incurred most likely would not equal the incremental increase in the coin’s value.
The coin is totally free of any damaged (scratches, nicks or dents).
