    Description

Charles A. Lindbergh Aviation Photograph 1928 Signed.
Up for your consideration is this antique Charles A. Lindbergh Photograph. It came from an estate sale with some other interesting papers. I researched it on the internet and couldn’t find a exact copy of this one. But I did find a photo with Charles Lindbergh standing next to Mexican Capt. Emilio Carranza, a history making pilot, named “the Lindbergh of Mexico”. In June 1928 Capt. Carranza made a solo flight from Mexico to Washington D.C. and New York. Mexican aviator Emilio Carranza we’re friends and held distance solo flight records. I believe this was the same time this picture was taken in 1928. The condition is very good, 3 little thumb tac pin holds on the white border where it was hung up to admire. Check out the photos for the best description. It measures approximately 7 1/2” X 9 1/2”. I believe this is a pre-print signature, the autograph is part of the photo. There is a number under the photograph 137, not sure what that applies to. Thanks for looking.
What is sepia tone: contrary to what many people think those nostalgic old photos that look brown didn’t turn that color as they aged. The pictures just look as they did when the photographer firsted admired his handy work. The soft brown tint is the result of a chemical process that took place in the dark room. But it’s purpose was to prevent fading and prolong a photographers life and archival value. The beautiful color probably came as a pleasant surprise to the first photographer who tried the process. Stark black and white photographs that sorely lacked emotional appeal were suddenly imbued with warmth and intensity.
